Turfu les éditions

Today we want to talk about an amazing project which is entirely run by teenagers: the French publishing house Turfu les éditions. We will soon have the pleasure to meet them during the launching events of the Engage! platform in Barcelona (20-21st March 2019).

Turfu les éditions, based in Poitiers, is a publishing house entirely run by high school students that publishes free e-books from newcomers in the book world. Turfu les éditions was created in 2016 as a school project in the Lycée Pilote Innovant International, but it quickly became an association. Turfu les éditions’ purpose is to empower new writers with writing, communication and publishing skills. It is different from other publishing houses as they choose the books they like and do not follow any particular editorial policy. They like to have an intimate relationship with the writers so they can achieve the best of their needs and abilities.

They have been selected as one of the 50 analyzed case studies by Engage! Young Producers because they are an example of a literary organization entirely run by youngsters, that links culture and education and fosters the students' development of an interdisciplinary range of skills. The young publishers, represented by Corentin Gautrault and Arthur Besnard, will be sharing their experience with 60 Catalan students from IES Viladomat on the 20th of March, and will present their project to the wider public in Biblioteca El Clot- Josep Benet (Barcelona) the 21st of March.
